Fresno Chess Club Annual Business Meeting

Time 7:30PM, Friday, 9 January 2009 at the Carl's Jr. Restaurant (corner of First & Herndon).
Friday, 8 January 2010 is next Annual Business Meeting
This is a very important meeting which will elect new officers and also affect the future of the Fresno Chess Club.

If you are a current member in good standing with the Fresno Chess Club and at least 13 years old, then you need to vote in future elections.  If running for office in the club, remember that your desire to do so is serious business which involves a full commitment  for an entire year.   Contact the President Bob Rasmussen if you have any questions.

Some of the important items that were voted on in addition to election of officers follows:

Making Carl's Jr. First & Herndon our official meeting site for both Monday and Friday nights.
Passed by majority vote.
See June 29th above for newest location.
A modest dues increase and re structure of Family and Life memberships.
Passed by majority vote.
New Officer requirement to run for office as having been a member in good standing for "a full year" prior to Election.                   Passed by majority vote.

Also, By-Laws #4 second paragraph was added, Passed by majority vote.

Plan to be there for your voice to be heard and your vote to be counted.

Consider nominating a club member (non elected officer) for special "Most Valuable Member" for the giving of time, talent or financial contributions to the club for 2009.  Recognition to be noted as part of the Annual Business meeting program.  Please see club President Bob Rasmussen with your nomination.

On the chessboard lies and hypocrisy do not survive long.  The creative combination lays bare the presumption of a lie;  the merciless fact, culminating in a checkmate, contradicts the hypocrite.
